Preventative Maintenance

Description: Recreational surfacing requires ongoing cleaning procedures and basic maintenance over time. This session explores the various techniques and methods for maintaining surfacing to increase its usable life and help ensure continued safety for children and families. This session includes an overview of various preventive maintenance procedures and under what circumstances each is applicable as well as a hands-on portion designed to provide students with real-world skills for minor poured in place rubber patching.

• Define the best practices for surfacing care and maintenance to enhance surface longevity

• Identify methods to enhance safety and compliance on existing and new playground surfaces
