PlayCore Announces Retirement of CEO Bob Farnsworth

PlayCore Holdings, Inc. (PlayCore), a leading designer, manufacturer, and marketer of a broad range of play and recreation products, today announced that Bob Farnsworth will retire as Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2017.

The Company also announced that Roger Posacki, PlayCore’s President, will be assuming the role of President and CEO moving forward to provide ongoing leadership and to support company-wide operations and strategic initiatives to continue the company's growth. In addition, PlayCore announced that Spencer Cheak, Mark Burgess, and Anita Sayed will be promoted to the titles of Group President, reporting to Posacki and responsible for the operations of the platform company groups within PlayCore. Farnsworth will continue a role with PlayCore as a member of the Company’s Board of Directors.

Over his 19 year tenure, Farnsworth has helped build PlayCore into the recognized leader in the play and recreation equipment market. From a company portfolio that consisted of playground companies at the beginning of Farnsworth’s tenure, PlayCore has grown to a holding company with 20 brands that encompass several categories of recreation, including play, aquatics, site furnishings, indoor and outdoor fitness, and spectator seating. The company is also the most recognized provider of research-based education and programming in the industry. “I am deeply grateful to have had the opportunity to lead this fine company for the past 19 years, and I am excited about its future,” said Farnsworth. “I’m extremely proud to have worked with one of the best teams in the industry to help drive PlayCore’s growth. The passion, drive, and dedication of our people has provided the foundation on which we’ve built the company we are today.”

During his time at PlayCore, Bob has served on several industry and nonprofit boards, lending business and marketing expertise to help promote play, recreation, philanthropy, and economic growth. His service includes the Boards of the National Recreation and Park Association, the Chambliss Center for Children, the School of Business for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, Co.Lab (The Company Lab), the City of Chattanooga Enterprise Center, the Chattanooga Children’s Discovery Museum, Reflections Riding and Arboretum, and the Chattanooga Leadership Council for the Trust for Public Land.
