Porter Corp partnered with the Salvation Army to collect donations for their annual Angel Tree Toy Drive

In December, Porter Corp partnered with the Salvation Army to collect donations for their annual Angel Tree Toy Drive.  The goal of the toy drive was to reach 25,000 local children by collecting toys to brighten their holiday season. Many businesses, schools and churches sign up to host an Angel Tree, and Porter Corp was a designated collection site this year.

Employees at Porter Corp set up a large Christmas tree in the main office and placed smaller trees in each of the breakrooms. The Salvation Army provided tags for the trees. Each tag contained the age and gender of a child in need. Employees were so eager donate the tags that the organization had to send more within the first week of the campaign.

While many employees brought in donations, many opted to contribute to the cause with cash donations or through payroll deduction. All donations and contributions were eligible for the company match. A total of $897 was raised and used to purchase toys.

On December 14, employee volunteers delivered the toys to the Salvation Army so that they could be distributed in time for Christmas.
