Porter Corp Day of Caring 2018 Benefits Good Samaritan Ministries

On June 9, Porter Corp held their annual Day of Caring at the Good Sam’s Wild Run, an obstacle run for kids ages 4 – 13 in Holland, Michigan. Kids maneuvered obstacles designed and built by local companies and voted for their favorite after they completed the course.

Porter Corp employees volunteered in many different roles at the race. From registration to face painting, there were many opportunities to be involved in giving back to the community where they work, live, and play. Those where who unable to attend were still able to be involved by participating in a company bake sale. Proceeds from the bake sale were used to purchase a corporate sponsorship at the event.

The Wild Run supports Good Samaritan Ministries whose mission is to end poverty and homelessness. They recognize that investing in children is the key to breaking the cycle of generational poverty. The proceeds of the run go to toward several programs including Faith In Youth, Circle Youth, and Affordable Housing Connections.
