Warner Park

A Placemaking Success Story

In the heart of Chattanooga, Tenn., Warner Park is a bright destination with a host of activities to keep local residents and a bustling tourist trade healthy, happy, and engaged. Home to the Chattanooga Zoo, the park also features options to engage anyone, of any age or ability, in activities designed to promote health and fitness.

Located along a major bus route, Warner Park also features ample parking for cars and bikes, making access easy. The addition of a play area has expanded its family appeal exponentially.

Warner Park visitors can also enjoy the Warner Park Tennis Courts, ample walking/jogging paths, and the indoor Chattanooga Fitness Center located in the park. The fitness center offers low cost membership so that cost never has to be a barrier to going to the gym.

Another area of the park is dedicated to championship-level quality softball facilities for national, regional, and local tournaments, showcases, and league play every weekend from February to November. The softball complex is popular not only for its great amenities, but for the brand new Miracle League field, a facility designed so that people utilizing mobility devices can play baseball with ease, thanks to the poured rubber surface found throughout the field.

The nearby playground also has a baseball theme, and was designed utilizing  PlayCore's 7 Principles of Inclusive Playground Design, to ensure people of all abilities find the space fun, meaningful, and immersive. The playground was registered as a National Demonstration Site for its inclusive properties, and serves as a model for visiting communities wishing to create an all inclusive play experience.

The Warner Park Pool and nearby "Spray and Play" splash pad features 19 water friendly features that squirt, spray, splash, rain, and sprinkle for hours of cool recreation activity. In the summer, the pool hosts Family Nights, Teen Nights, swimming lessons, water exercise classes in addition to hours of open swim time.
