The award was bestowed at the Opening Session of the CPRS Annual Conference on March 14, 2018 and is designed to honor those who contribute to the success of parks and recreation in the state of California.

CPRS President Jim Wheeler stated at the time of the presentation, “This one is overdue, we appreciate all that PlayCore has done to promote CPRS and healthy initiatives in our state.”  Roger Posacki added, “It’s an honor to receive this award, which is shared with all the people at PlayCore. As a purpose-driven company, we appreciate the opportunity to support community initiatives by planning, designing, building, and programming meaningful play and recreation spaces.”
