Community Partners

We believe in enhancing the quality of life in the communities where we live, work, and play. PlayCore partners with a number of community organizations that are instrumental in promoting the importance of recreation and play for children and adults in our own community.

Located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, PlayCore is proud to support the many efforts of schools, agencies, and local state and city wide organizations that are passionate about play. Together, our organizations are moving play forward in our community and beyond.



Bright School
The Bright School is a private school for students grades PreK-5th grade.   Like PlayCore, The Bright School believes in the value of outdoor play and learning. The school has developed unique outdoor classrooms and utilizes a comprehensive outdoor learning program to enhance the classroom curriculum.

PlayCore partners with the school and progressive educational faculty to develop products and programs that can bring classroom learning outdoors in fun and creative ways.

Children's Home Chambliss Shelter
The purpose of the Children’s Home/ Chambliss Shelter is to preserve family unity and to help prevent the dependency, neglect, abuse and delinquency of children by responding to the community's childcare needs.

Through our collaboration with the Children’s Home/Chambliss Shelter, PlayCore is better able to understand the unique needs of children, families and service providers, and helps to support the development and use of meaningful playground environments to support children’s growth and development. PlayCore employees take pride in supporting  the organization in a variety of ways such as our Days of Caring,  volunteering, fundraisers, employee giving , and donating holiday items for children in need.

Chattanooga Parks & Recreation
The mission of the Chattanooga Parks and Recreation Department is to provide diverse recreation and leisure opportunities for all ages and abilities in a fun and safe environment through a wide variety of educational and recreational activities.

PlayCore collaborates with city personnel to better understand, support and promote the value of parks, public playgrounds and recreation programs for children, families and communities. PlayCore has recently donated an inclusive playground for the City’s beautiful waterfront in the heart of downtown, adult fitness equipment at the Warner Park Recreation facility, and a Play Trail at Riverpoint Park, which has been named a Pathways for Play National Demonstration Site.  The City’s recreation staff also works with PlayCore to pilot and implement outdoor curriculum programs as a resource for summer camp and after school programming, and host outreach events to train staff on the value of play.

Creative Discovery Museum
The Creative Discovery Museum is a hands-on children's museum featuring activities and exhibits on art, music, science, and technology. Created with input from children, the Museum excites kids and parents with exhibits and activities that help them develop a love for learning. Educational programs include science demonstrations, art lessons, visiting artists, scientists-in-residence, and musical programs. PlayCore regularly partners with the Creative Discovery Museum to test new product development concepts and teaching methods.

Jordan Thomas Foundation
The Jordan Thomas Foundation provides prostheses for children of traumatic injury and limb loss. Founded by Jordan Thomas at the age of 16, while recovering from the loss of both legs below the knee in a boating accident with his family, the foundation supports recipients through their growth years to age 18.  As an advocate for parity for amputees, Jordan works to support and promote the return to happy, healthy, and active lives for all children of limb loss.

PlayCore supports the Foundation as a corporate partner to further support our mission to ensure children of all abilities can benefit from play, recreation, and physical activity.

Ronald McDonald House
Since 1990, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga has been providing a “home away from home” each year for approximately 600 families of critically injured and seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals in Chattanooga.

PlayCore is proud to be a corporate partner supporting the mission of the organization through volunteerism, philanthropy, and an employee giving program.

Siskin Children’s Institute
Siskin is a non-profit organization in Chattanooga, Tennessee that dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with special needs and their families.  Since 1950, Siskin Children's Institute has helped thousands of children, families and professionals with special education, early intervention, and research and health care services. Siskin Early Learning Centers serve children with and without disabilities, and shares our belief that inclusive play is beneficial to all children.   

PlayCore supports Siskin Children’s Institutes mission through employee giving and various fundraising events.  The inclusive playground serves as a lab site to further innovate inclusive play products and programming that brings classroom learning outdoors in fun and creative ways.

Tennessee Park and Recreation Association
Strengthening and uniting those committed to the benefits of parks and recreation, the Tennessee Park and Recreation Association is a non-profit society that supports highly effective professionals to achieve healthy, livable communities.

PlayCore partners with the Association to support the development of parks and playgrounds, training, and various other events.
