American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD)
AAHPERD’s mission is to promote and support leadership, research, education, and best practices in the professions that support creative, healthy, and active lifestyles.  This alliance of five national associations, six district associations, and a research consortium supports healthy lifestyles through outstanding programs.

PlayCore partners with two of AAHPERD’s national associations, National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) and American Association for Physical Activity and Recreation (AAPAR) to support their program initiatives, such as Let’s Move In School, to promote healthy physical activity and combat childhood obesity.

American Association for Physical Activity and Recreation (AAPAR)
AAPAR serves more than 8,000 professors, teachers, trainers, and community leaders who promote meaningful physical activity and recreation across the lifespan. The association is dedicated to enhancing quality of life by promoting creative and active lifestyles with particular focus on inclusive, community-based programs.

PlayCore partners with AAPAR as a corporate sponsor of Early Childhood Movement Day held during AAHPERD’s National Convention, and serves as the sole sponsor of AAPAR’s Adaptive PE Webinar Series, which provides training and resources to professionals serving people with disabilities in physical education.  PlayCore and AAPAR partnered together to create Play On! Playground Learning Activities for Youth Fitness, a standards-based physical education curriculum that utilizes the playground to promote fun, physical activity and partnered with AAPAR and researchers from Western Michigan University to conduct an independent study on the effectiveness of the program.

American Trails
American Trails is the only national, nonprofit organization working on behalf of all trail interests. Through education, partnerships, and timely information resources, American Trails promotes and advocates for the creation, conservation and broad enjoyment of quality trails and greenways that offer places of solace, health, fitness, recreation, and transportation for all Americans. Since American Trails formation in 1988 they have been involved in everything from advocating for more funding for trails, training trails advocates, and providing technical assistance to increasing accessible trail opportunities for all ages and abilities.

PlayCore has partnered with American Trails to encourage active lifestyles of families, children, and communities on trail networks. As the 2010 Bald Eagle Sponsor, PlayCore supported the 20th American Trails National Symposium at the highest level. An advisory committee comprised of American Trails leadership and board members contributed significantly to the development of the Pathways for Play program developed in partnership with PlayCore and the Natural Learning Initiative. PlayCore and American Trails continue to partner together on various opportunities to continue to provide playful opportunities on trail networks through an affinity program to their membership, educational webinars, and various other opportunities to promote the Pathways for Play program.

Association of Children's Museums
The Association of Children's Museums is recognized as a global leader, advocate and resource among organizations serving the learning needs of children and families. Their mission is to build the capacity of children's museums to serve as town squares for children and families where play inspires creativity and lifelong learning.

PlayCore promotes creative learning through play with ACM through exhibition and seminars at their annual conference, and an affinity program for their membership.

Boundless Playgrounds™
Since 1997, Boundless Playgrounds has been the leading national nonprofit developer of nearly 200 inclusive playgrounds in 31 states and Canada.  Their mission is to build inclusive playgrounds where children and adults of all abilities can play and learn together in a fun and welcoming environment. City Park Alliance
City Park Alliance is a national organization comprised of city parks leaders from across the country who work together to strengthen America's city parks. The mission of City Parks Alliance is to create vibrant and healthy parks and green spaces that contribute to sustainable cities by organizing, facilitating and nurturing a broad-based movement.

Head Start Body Start National Center for Physical Development and Outdoor Play (HSBS)
A collaboration between the American Association for Physical Activity and Recreation (AAPAR) and the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE), the Center serves early childhood professionals, caregivers, families, and communities to help create dynamic play/learning environment and promote physical activity throughout children’s days.  HSBS offers grants for Head Start and Early Head Start Programs to enhance outdoor play spaces that promote healthy movement and help foster development across all domains.

Healthy Weight Commit
The Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation brings together over 220 retailers, food and beverage manufacturers, restaurants, sporting goods and insurance companies, a professional sports organization, NGOs, trade associations, and the U.S. Army aimed at doing their part to help families and schools reduce obesity, especially childhood obesity.

Kids Around the World
Kids Around the World is a faith-based organization founded to provide safe play equipment for children in these kinds of situations. The organization strives to restore hope through the power of play by building playgrounds worldwide for communities in need.

PlayCore has supported the efforts of Kids around the World by providing equipment for underserved countries and working with the organization to set up a playground recycling program, refurbishing equipment that communities wish to donate, and shipping it around the world to provide play opportunities to the world’s children.

Let's Move In Schools (LMIS)
The goal of Let's Move in School is to ensure that every school provides a comprehensive school physical activity program with quality physical education as the foundation so that youth will develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to be physically active for a lifetime.  LMIS is a call to action for teachers, parents, principals, school administrators and legislators, and the program is provided by the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) led by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE).

As a Bronze Level Let’s Move in Schools Corporate Partner, PlayCore is proud to support this important initiative to help further the efforts of First Lady Michelle Obama’s nationwide Let’s Move campaign to solve the challenge of childhood obesity.   PlayCore joins a variety of strategic and federal partners to support this important initiative, including the American Association of School Administrators, National Association of Elementary School Principals, National School Board Association, and the President’s Council on Fitness, Sport and Nutrition.

National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE)
NASPE is the non-profit professional membership association that sets the standard for best practices in quality physical education and sport. NASPE is the largest of the five national associations that make up the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD). Its mission is to enhance knowledge, improve professional practice, and increase support for high-quality physical education, sport, and physical activity programs.

National Institute for Play
The National Institute for Play non-profit public benefit corporation committed to bringing the unrealized knowledge, practices and benefits of play into public life. It is gathering research from diverse play scientists and practitioners, initiating projects to expand the clinical scientific knowledge of human play and translating this emerging body of knowledge into programs and resources which deliver the transformative power of play to all segments of society. The National Institute for Play is led by the founder, Dr. Stuart Brown.

PlayCore recently sponsored the development of The State of PlayScience DVD and partners with Stuart Brown to provide training and program development.

Natural Learning Initiative (NLI)
The Natural Learning Initiative (NLI) is a research and design assistance program of the College of Design of North Carolina State University. NLI creates environments for healthy human development and a healthy biosphere for generations to come. The purpose of the Natural Learning Initiative is to promote the natural environment in the daily experience of all children and families, through environmental design, action research, education, and dissemination of information.

PlayCore has partnered with the Natural Learning Initiative to develop two comprehensive design programs, NatureGrounds and Pathways for Play, to promote and encourage meaningful play experiences for children in nature.  PlayCore is a proud sponsor of the Natural Learning Initiative and their annual Growing in Place Symposium and Design Institute.

National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA)
The NRPA advances parks, recreation and environmental conservation efforts that enhance human potential and the quality of life for all people. Working closely with allied organizations, NRPA strives to facilitate and promote the development of grassroots, self-help initiatives in communities across the country.

Partnership for Play Every Day
As conveners of the Partnership for Play Every Day, the YMCA of the United States, the National Recreation and Park Association, and the National Association for Sport and Physical Education are working together to increase the spaces and quality of play for our country’s youth. US PLAY Coalition
The US PLAY Coalition is a partnership to promote play throughout life and recognizes play as a valuable and necessary part of a healthy and productive lifestyle. Housed within Clemson University's College of Health, Education and Human Development, the coalition's purpose is to bring together organizations and individuals in support of play and to open up opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to incorporate play into their lives.

Voice of Play
The “Voice of Play” is an Internet-based resource sponsored by the International Playground Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA) as a mean of educating the public about the benefits of play. It offers information about the physical, social, emotional and cognitive benefits of play, playground certification and safety standards. It is also a resource to assist parents and provides a direct way to ask questions of our play experts.

PlayCore actively participates in the Voice of Play advisory board, providing articles, insight, and information to promote play through this resource.
