NatureGrounds to be featured on new Head Start website tool
The National Head Start Association is developing a set of resources in a specially designed section called Natural Play Spaces. The goal of the site is to help make Head Start programs around the country aware of the value of nature study and outdoor activity in achieving positive outcomes for young children. They have requested permission to post several articles from the Naturegrounds.org website.
Anne Withers, Information Specialist/Librarian for the Head Start Knowledge and Information Management Services stated, “The Office of Head Start, Education and Comprehensive Services Division, has been developing materials and resources to help teachers promote nature encounters and outdoor activity in everyday interactions with children and families. These resources are distributed on the Early Childhood Learning and Knowledge Center (ECLKC) web site, available at http://eclkc.ohs.acf.hhs.gov/hslc. The ECLKC is the primary dissemination channel for information and resources from the Office of Head Start to Head Start programs.”
We will keep you in the loop as the site is developed and launched.
