4/30/2010 - PlayCore’s Anne-Marie Spencer, Director of Marketing of GameTime, and Jennie Sumrell, Programs and Partnerships Coordinator of PlayCore, were among the 250 delegates that convened in Washington, D.C. last year to participate in the initial development of a National Physical Activity Plan, which launched May 2, 2010. This comprehensive plan encourages our nation to be more physically active, reduce barriers to inactivity, and ensure that communities and institutions have opportunities to engage in healthy physical activity. The launch acts on the challenge of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move campaign, focused on ending childhood obesity of which PlayCore is a supporter. 12/8/2009 - PlayCore has been named by the Chattanooga Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) as the 2009 Corporate Philanthropist of the Year. The organization recognizes two individuals and one corporation annually that demonstrate a breadth and depth of philanthropic activity over a sustained period of time and have made a substantial difference for the Chattanooga community.
