Obtaining Grant Funding

Obtaining grant funding is a result of careful research, preparation, and timing. In order to have your application noticed among hundreds to thousands of others, you must take the funder’s priorities into account, as well as your own. In the session, you will explore grant funding and sourcing, learn the formula to create a successful grant application, and consider how to effectively present the proposal in order to get results. The process is not a rigid formula, so understanding it and how funders’ guidelines and policies affect the process can be the key to success.  Note: Continuing education units (CEU's) are not available for this course.

Learning Objectives:

  • Name the critical components of a successful grant proposal
  • Outline how to evaluate funder’s priorities and maximize your application to meet their goals
  • Discuss the top mistakes to avoid when applying for a grant
  • Identify effective and time saving methods to search for viable playground funding opportunities

Over 99% of participants that responded agreed that outreach presenters were effective and knowledgeable about content.
